Mosquito Gem

Mosquito Gem lives and sprays in London. He exhibited at the first Santa's Ghetto show and recently caused quite a stir at the Cans Festival.

The Amuti Gallery is proud to announce they we are his offical dealer and agent.

Seen

A pioneer of the graffiti scene and an inspiration to many of today's street artists, SEEN first started to paint on New York's subway in 1973 with his crew, United Artists. He continued to paint on the subway until 1989, when many artists had already given up as the Metropolitain Transportation Authority stepped up their counter-attacks to stop the graffiti 'bombers'. During the early 1980s SEEN started producing work on canvas and he featured in the exhibition New York/New Wave at P.S.1. in Manhattan, alongside artists such as Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Since then his work has been shown in galleries across the globe and bought by museums and private collectors.

Richard Milward

Richard Milward was born in Middlesbrough in 1984. His debut novel Apples was published by Faber and Faber in 2007 to great acclaim. He was raised and schooled in Guisborough, Cleveland and now studies at Byam Shaw at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. He cites Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh as the book that made him want to write and Jack Kerouac, Richard Brautigan and Hunter S. Thompson as his main influences. As with fellow Teesside-raised writer Michael Smith, he writes a column for Dazed & Confused magazine.

Gerald Jenkins

Gerald Jenkins is renown for his technical ability and as well as work for Vogue, Tatler and various fashion and beauty ad campaigns, his landscapes and portraiture earned him credibility and respect within the industry. In 2000 he was chosen to be the "official photographer for the Aboriginal involvement in the Sydney Olympic Games" and his work was exhibited in London as part of 'Mother Tongue - Aspects of Aboriginality'. He is curently curating his lifes work, of which some are available in his Bathing Whiskey section.

James Cauty

James Cauty was founder member of wild pop groups The Orb, The JAMMS, The KLF and art do-gooders The K-Foundation. He also founded the Blacksmoke Organisation, an eco-friendly post-terrorist peacenik art collective, but he resigned his post there in 2005 to spend more time with his stamp collection.

John Dove & Molly White

430 Kings Road has become one of the most famous addresses in British fashion history from 'Hung On You' in 1967 to Worlds End today. It was from this address at 'Paradise Garage' owned by Trevor Miles from 1970 - 1971, that John and Molly developed a style using collage techniques, drawings, appropriated images and icons that not only captured perfectly the zeitgeist of the period, but had them counting the likes of Iggy Pop, Marc Bolan and Sid Vicious as admirers and customers. John and Molly's 'Punk' fashion ethos is as cutting-edge, stylish and relevant today as it was then. They continued to sell their iconoclastic designs throughout the 70s from other famous emporiums such as 'Granny Takes A Trip', Kitsch-22 and Boy. A closer inspection soon reveals the extent to which their work has not just been influential but often downright copied.

Jamie Reid

Reid’s work has always involved a fusion of the political, the spiritual, and a culture in distress. Very often blurring the boundaries between art, design and critical response. It is now 30 years since he took the Beaton portrait of the Queen, tore out her eyes and mouth, put a safety pin through her lips and stuck swastikas in her eyes. These were not just a pieces of design, they were part of an assault on culture, and possibly the last time that art was truly shocking to the establishment whilst having a genuine radical effect on a whole generation.

Frank Kozik

Frank Kozik is credited with single handedly reviving the "lost" art of the concert poster. Frank's creative career grew largely out of his enthusiasm for Austin's growing underground rock scene in the mid-eighties. Starting with black and white flyers for friends bands posted on telephone polls, his reputation grew as an artist who's work was graphically compelling as well as culturally gripping. With hundreds of full-colour, limited edition, silk screened posters under his belt for such renowned artists as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and The Beastie Boys, he has also been the subject of many magazine articles such as Newsweek, Rolling Stone, Spin, and Details.

Billy Childish

An international cult figure, Billy Childish is by far the most prolific painter, poet, and songwriter of his generation. In a thirty-year period he has published 40 collections of his poetry, 4 novels, recorded over 100 full-length independent LPs and produced over 2000 paintings.

"Britain's greatest cultural asset" - The Guardian

STOT21stCplanB

STOT21stCplanB stands for Scorpion Thunderbolt of the Twenty First Century Plan B. The preferred form of the name is the abbreviated STOT21stCplanB pronounced as ESS TEA OH TEA Twenty First SEA Plan BEE. This might seem difficult at first but with a bit of practice you’ll have it rolling off your tongue in no time. FLOODING, DROWNING and general water based DISASTER use to be their favorite themes but recently they’ve moved on to demonizing innocent birdies and other politics of hate, the destruction of London, more flooding, and decorating Ikea furniture.

Simon Thompson

Not much is known about this London based artist that the AMUTI and Aquarium have taken under their wings.

Galen Wainwright

Galen Wainwright is a freelance artist living in London. He sometimes put on exhibitions, sometimes makes animations and sometimes makes comics. He often throws his mind to the wind and every week he draws illustrations for a live music show. After his first show at AMUTI in 2007 his star is raising and is certainly one to watch. Look out for has second show later in 2008.
